Baba Yaga, The Russian Witch

This is a depiction of Baba Yaga, a famous witch from the russian folklore.
I always loved this character. She is like the average witch, and old creepy-looking woman who eats children, BUT at the same time is the only witch I know that don't fly riding a broom but a mortar! But there's more: She lives in a house standing on two chicken legs! How awesome is that?
On the other side, I like her too because althought that you can see her as an evil being she have a more ambiguous nature. She also can help adventurers and heroes, and she have wishes, like look young again. And that's the main reason that I painted her searching for a blue rose: According to the tales, she can be young again if she drinks a tea made of a blue rose.

"And she rides her mortar, flying through the autumn woods, in search for a blue rose."
